Agri-food IoT: silos, compost and produce measured without touching them
We measure the level of every silo with better than 99% accuracy, put sensors inside the compost pile and check product quality with hyperspectral imaging. And we keep warehouse workers safe.

- What we measure
- Silo and tank levels, compost temperature, humidity and oxygen, product composition
- Where
- Feed mills, cooperatives, composting and packing plants
- What for
- Buy only what you need, never lose a pile and never touch the product
- With whom
- University of Valladolid and ITCL
Three problems that come up again and again in agri-food
The silo is gauged by eye
Tapping the sheet metal or peering through the hatch is not inventory. You either overbuy or the line stops for lack of raw material.
The compost pile gives no warning
When it runs short of air, the temperature inside changes and nobody notices until the batch is lost.
Quality is checked by destroying samples
Opening, cutting and lab analysis come too late for the line.
Start with one silo and grow when it makes sense
Silo level meter
Silo and tank levels by laser or load cell, better than 99% accuracy, simple installation and minimal maintenance.
Automated composting
Sensors inside the pile that measure temperature, humidity and oxygen and warn you when it needs air.
Machine vision and hyperspectral imaging
Quality control without touching the product: hyperspectral imaging sees on the line what the eye cannot.
Equipment for the warehouse and for the people who work in it
A machine gives no warning before it stops. Its data does
-
1 · Capture
Sensors where they are missing, and readings from those already there.
-
2 · Analysis
What is normal and what is a warning in each signal.
-
3 · Preventive
Thresholds and alerts before the failure.
-
4 · Predictive
Probable failure date, with its margin.
-
5 · Proactive
Process changes so the failure never happens.
Agri-food IoT, in a nutshell
If your question isn’t here, ask us during the assessment.
How is a silo’s level measured?
With a laser sensor at the top or load cells on the legs. The reading goes to the dashboard and to the ERP.
Does it work with older silos?
Yes. The sensor is installed without modifying the silo.
What does hyperspectral imaging see that a camera doesn’t?
The product’s composition: moisture, fat, foreign bodies and internal defects, on the line and without touching it.
Where do we start?
With an assessment: we look at which silo, pile or line worries you and what would need to be measured.
